Welcome
Phoenix HealthCare of Asheville
My professional journey began with nursing, in Chicago, Illinois, Rush University Medical Center. I specialized in critical care as an intensive care nurse for 15 years. It was while working in the ICU that I learned the nucleus of healing arises from ‘compassion and calm.’
My foundational understanding of caring for people was enriched through many aspects of pathophysiology and pharmacology, for which I developed a passion.
I went on to earn a masters degree in medical physiology from Georgetown University. Subsequently, I completed my doctoral education at Argosy University, American School of Professional Psychology. Concentrating in neuropsychology as a clinical psychologist was a natural and heartfelt pathway to pursue. This training further put me in a unique position to recognize the powerful connection between the mind, body and spirit.
I believe the intrinsic nature of giving back is Compassion.
This is the heart of my work and so
my passion to serve others.
As a psychotherapist offering marriage counseling in Asheville NC, along with a variety of other services, staying current with evolving scientific models of treatment with leaders in the field is key. Yet, it becomes clear that we heal through the heart. In Steve Auterburns words, “Healing is a Choice.” When we learn to surrender to our vulnerability and innocence, it not only grounds us, we also begin to know the soul. This allows for self love and connection to a universal reality and the compassion of God.
Since 1981, I have accompanied many on their healing journey and also have been personally stretched and shaped by persevering through personal suffering.
This is my tapestry that I hope reflects Grace in paying wisdom forward.
